FAQ
- How do I get started?
-
(1) Sign up for an account.
(2) After you sign in, go to Settings (at the bottom of My Info page) to set up your phone numbers.
(3) If you chose to share your location, you may also enter addresses there.
- How does Fon11 work?
-
Fon11 uses phone numbers to link you to your contacts.
To add a contact, you'll need to enter the person's phone number(s) and invite him or her
to do the same for your number(s). Please note, to protect your privacy, Fon11 will only
link one number at a time. This means if someone typed in your office number, they won't
see your mobile and home phone numbers.
You may add as many contacts and numbers as you like, however,
until the other party adds you to their contact list, you won't be able to share photos and messages.
- What can I do with Fon11?
-
- Tell your friends if you are available to take calls
- Share your location
- Broadcast a short message
- Share your mood
- Share your new phone number with your contact list
- Who can see my content? Do you have privacy control?
-
All contacts in your list can see your availability, mood, and message.
For sensitive information, such as your location, you are in full control of how much to share.
For instance, you have 4 ways to share you location: (1) Street level - your exact location,
(2) Neighborhood level - or within two kilometers, (3) Metro level - the metropolitan area you are in, or
(4) Hide your location. If you choose to hide your location, you will not appear on your friend's Nearby page.
- What if I don't want someone to see me?
-
Simply delete that person from your contact list. Once a contact is deleted that person can no
longer see your photo, availability, message, and location or get updates when you change your number.
- Does Fon11 work on other mobile devices?
-
Fon11 only works on the iPhone. We are working hard to bring Fon11 to other devices.
We plan to make Fon11 APIs available so that other developers interested in seeing Fon11 on another phones
and can help us speed up the process.
- How do I use IDD and NDD settings?
- The IDD prefix is used to make a call from your current country to another country. For example, in the USA
the IDD prefix is 011. NDD is the prefix used to make a call within your current country. In the USA, the
NDD prefix is 1.
Fon11 presets the IDD and NDD prefixes based on your country setting. You only need to change these presets
if your carrier uses different IDD and NDD prefixes.
- How do I enter an international phone number?
- First you enter the IDD prefix, then the country code, followed by the phone number. For example, in the
USA you would enter 011 33 plus the phone number to enter a French number.
- How do I share my new phone number?
- Simply update the phone number in Settings. Fon11 will scan through your contact list, locate those users
who have your old number, and update the number automatically.
Fon11 will only share your new number with contacts who have had your old number previously.
- How do I hide my home number from certain contacts?
- Don't give them your home number. Fon11 will not share your mobile, home and office numbers automatically.
To share your number with someone, you must first add the person to your contact list. That person must also have
added you as his/her contact and have input your home number.
